Patients requiring medical treatment not available on Eylandt are eligible for financial assistance. Terminally ill patients wanting to return to country from Darwin, chronically or terminally ill patients and medical escorts are eligible for flights.
This is reviewed after two weeks from the previous payment.

When flights are not covered by Patient Travel due to the individual missing previous flights, The Social Program will cover flight costs provided there is a letter from the clinic. If an individual misses a flight, booked by Social Program or misses an appointment, The Social Program will not pay future travel or provide food vouchers.
Approved individuals are entitled to a $200 monthly food voucher, paid on the 1st working day of each month.
December Monthly Support – for the month of December only, no purchase orders will be raised On-Archipelago recipients. Instead a food hamper will be supplied to every T.O. household on the Archipelago only. Refer to Welfare section.
Darwin Monthly Medical Money – Individuals that are in Darwin for medical reasons will receive an amount of $300 each month (in two equal payments of $150 each fortnight) and payment of the electricity bills for the Darwin residence. Refer to Electricity section.
January Monthly Support – No Monthly payments are made in January due to Royalty payments being made in December.
Returning From Hospital – Approved individuals returning to the Archipelago from a long-term Hospital stay are entitled to one $200 food voucher.
Total $18,000 per annum.
The Social Program will not pay future travel.
Total budget capped at $3,600 per case.
It is recognized by the Board of Directors that medical support for the two individuals (one for each of the two moieties) is of such significance as to require an increase in the budget and will be capped at $6,000 per individual.
No accommodation or food will be paid.
