Individuals who are Royalty Recipients (residing On-Archipelago or Off-Archipelago) are required to have a notice from a recognized health clinic that states when patients are required to travel and for what reason. For patients residing On-Archipelago and Off-Archipelago requiring travel to Darwin, Gove or Katherine will receive:

• $50 for one day;
• $100 for two days; and
• $150 for three days and more

This is reviewed after two weeks from the previous payment.

For patients residing On-Archipelago or Off-Archipelago requiring interstate travel will receive:

• a one-off payment of $450; then
• $150 every two weeks.

When flights are not covered by Patient Travel due to the individual missing previous flights, The Social Program will cover flight costs provided there is a letter from the clinic. If an individual misses a flight, booked by Social Program or misses an appointment, The Social Program will not pay future travel or provide food vouchers.

The Social Program will maintain a medical list which shall be reviewed every six months by the Board to ensure that it is still current and appropriate for individuals to be on that list. The Medical List is created at the direction of Health.

Approved individuals are entitled to a $200 monthly food voucher, paid on the 1st working day of each month.

December Monthly Support – for the month of December only, no purchase orders will be raised On-Archipelago recipients. Instead a food hamper will be supplied to every T.O. household on the Archipelago only. Refer to Welfare section.

Darwin Monthly Medical Money – Individuals that are in Darwin for medical reasons will receive an amount of $300 each month (in two equal payments of $150 each fortnight) and payment of the electricity bills for the Darwin residence. Refer to Electricity section.

January Monthly Support – No Monthly payments are made in January due to Royalty payments being made in December.

Returning From Hospital – Approved individuals returning to the Archipelago from a long-term Hospital stay are entitled to one $200 food voucher.

(i.e. dialysis patients) who are permanent residents of Darwin, visiting the Archipelago & requiring financial assistance to return to Darwin for ongoing medical treatment are entitled to a maximum of two one way flights (GTE/DWN) per annum. A supporting notice from a recognized clinic is required to support each request. Total budget capped at $16,000 p.a.

Airfare for terminally ill patient in Darwin to return to the Groote archipelago to spend their final days on country. If an individual misses a flight, the Social Program will not pay future travel. No accommodation or
food will be paid. Total budget capped at $1,500 per case.

Airfares for confirmed chronically/terminally ill patients and their partner/carers; plus transit costs for 7ft container of household items from Darwin address to the Groote Archipelago address once home dialysis training has been completed; or chronically/terminally ill patient has passed away. Vehicles not included. Budget capped at $4,500 per case.

Total $18,000 per annum.

Individuals are required to have a notice from the clinic that states when patients are genuinely required to have Medical Escorts. The Social Program will only pay for immediate family and children. No accommodation and no food vouchers will be paid. No support will be provided for school-age children. If an individual misses a flight,

The Social Program will not pay future travel.

For interstate travel the medical escort will receive a one-off payment of $300.

Up to four immediate family members can receive travel assistance to visit and support patients in hospital that are confirmed to be severely traumatized or terminally ill. A doctor, clinic or hospital must provide a notice, letter or certificate detailing the severity of the illness. If an individual misses a flight, The Social Program will not pay future travel. No accommodation or food will be paid.

Total budget capped at $3,600 per case.

It is recognized by the Board of Directors that medical support for the two individuals (one for each of the two moieties) is of such significance as to require an increase in the budget and will be capped at $6,000 per individual.

Return airfares for one patient plus a maximum of three family members to Darwin to discuss Care Plans. If an individual misses a flight, the Social Program will not pay future travel.

No accommodation or food will be paid.

Total budget capped at $3,000 per case.
